Welcome!

Hello! Thank you, for visiting our site. Most recently, we opened the doors to our Russian community center in Redmond, so I want to talk a bit about the center, about us, and our plans for the future and that we have already done.

Who are we? We are a group of enthusiasts, people from the former Soviet Union who have decided to live a full life in a new country for us, while preserving the best of our culture. With communication, we help our fellow citizens pass adaptation safely, as well as trying to give our children and grandchildren the culture in which we grew up, and to provide our fellow mental and spiritual support. The idea of establishing the center was discussed for some time now, but due to certain circumstances, we were only able to purchase the building by 2007.

We spent almost a year and a half for a major remodeling, which also demanded a great deal of effort and investment. Finally, on January 17th of 2009, the inauguration of the center, which has room for 350 seats in multiple classes, a kitchen, a small hall with 50 seats for seminars, children's room, room for small meetings, and video/audio recording studio. For five months we have been able to organize and conduct several public holidays and events. May 9th Victory Day.

It was a grand theatrical celebration, organized by the creative group of "success", with the participation of various ensembles and choirs. The celebration was attended by veterans of the Great Patriotic War, and many guests, the hall was crowded. It was nice to see people cry, but at the same time being enthusiastic about this event. We received many thanks from visitors to the festival. (photos)

May 17th We held the first Christian rock concert at our center, in which performed a group from the city of Vancouver, Washington. May 30th at the center, a children's festival dedicated to Children's Day. The festival was a triumph, about 200 children and their parents enjoyed the program, which was prepared by enthusiasts of our center. Some photos of this and other holidays you can see in the photo gallery of our website. June 6th, We had the first women's conference in the state sponsored by the Eastern European Counseling Center. This event showed everyone how we are benefited from being together by receiving support, practical advice, and real help we can provide for each other.

Conference organizers invited cooperates, sponsors, and volunteers. The conference was great. In the center there is constant rehearsal of the dancing group "Nedetskyi Sad", and other creative groups. On Fridays we are holding two classes of Russian language and literature for children. It is gratifying to see the changes that occur in children, and how the additional training and communications are beneficial for them.

Every Sunday, the Christian Worship Service is in Russian and Spanish. In the near future, we plan to open service in English language, and now we have arranged an English translation. In the Russian center there’s Sunday school for children, set up creative teams, and organized various leisure activities for children and adults. We have great plans and we intend to continue to hold festivals and events for the Russian-speaking community.

Already scheduled events for autumn and one of them is the first Russian festival in the state. If you are interested in what we do, join us. We will be happy to meet with you and together continue to work hard to make our life more colorful, cheerful, happy and filled with spiritual values. Come to our site and talk to us on the forums. Thanks and see you! Head of Russian Community Center Vladimir Malyuta
